My secret to handling intense client sessions all day long is having a ritual for grounding and decompressing. After every session, to help me reset and feel ready for the next client, I wash my hands. I use it as a way to regulate and calm my nervous system but also as a metaphorical way to wash away the last session and feel ready and fresh for the next one.
