Yesterday we talked about C&O 2716 and her short time in excursion service on the Southern Railway due to firebox problems. When she went out of service, there was still a schedule to keep so the Southern went looking for another locomotive to fill the void. The search ended in Fort Wayne, Indiana with Nickel Plate Road 765.
