Hinode/SOT • M-Class Solar Flare 4.3.2021 • In this 2012 (approximately 4 hour) event recorded by the (JAXA) Hinode satellite we can see a prominence erupting to interplanetary space as a flare occurs simultaneously at the bottom region of the eruption. (Observed by Solar Optical Telescope (SOT), wavelength: calcium H line [396 nm]) When a prominence erupts most of the prominence plasma itself is not lost from the Sun. Here is the flare and ejection from the sun captured by the NASA/SDO spacecraft. The video was created by LMSAL showing us emission in 3 wavelengths of light, 171, 193, and 131.
