Hispi the Arctic ringed seal made it back to the wild ocean this morning after spending the night at the sanctuary. What a healthy, handsome creature and what a privilege to have him at Hillswick overnight. It was amazing to see his ringed markings that give the species their name, and watch as he clawed at the sump in the pool with his tiny flippers as if he was making a hole in the ice.
