Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Corbin Burnes is set to undergo Tommy John surgery, ending his season early in the first year of a six-year, $210 million contract.

The Diamondbacks may be dodging a bullet, as an injury to a pitcher's throwing elbow often leads to a season-ending shutdown. As Burnes is headed to the injured-list, the Diamondbacks will look to continue winning as they take on the Atlanta Braves in a three-game series that starts on Tuesday.
