SEOUL (Reuters) -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pledged to keep building a more modern navy fleet to enhance the country's maritime power as he attended the launching ceremony for a warship that was repaired after its earlier failed launch,

North Korea successfully relaunched its 5,000-ton naval destroyer, overseen by Kim Jong Un, after its initial launch failed last month. The warship, one of the largest in North Korea's navy, is believed to be capable of launching nuclear weapons.

Trump "remains receptive" to reengaging with South Korean strongman Kim Jong Un, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said.
