The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory through 7 p.m. for several counties along the Front Range, including Denver, El Paso and Weld counties.

According to the National Weather Service, the hottest temperature on Aug. 7 in Denver’s history was set in 1980, when temperatures reached 99 degrees. Throughout Denver’s recorded history, temperatures never reached the triple-digits on Aug. 7, but that may change soon.
