The vacation rental platform is redesigning its app and expanding its offerings with the launch of Airbnb Services and Airbnb Experiences, letting users go beyond booking a room or home stay and choose from a variety of amenities, similar to what hotel chains and cruises offer to guests.

Mr. Chesky said that the new product is still uniquely “Airbnb.” “We are finding the most interesting people in the world and designing new experiences,” he said, citing the Notre-Dame tour as an example of using an expert outside of the travel industry to offer a unique lens.
The tech company is rolling out a completely revamped version of its app with unique experiences and services, and social networking features that are reminiscent of the early days of social media.
The announcement centered on a new "Airbnb Services" initiative and a significantly relaunched "Airbnb Experiences."
