Governor Tina Kotek on Wednesday morning declared a State of Emergency across Oregon due to the increasing threat of wildfires, warning that high temperatures and dry conditions are expected to fuel more destructive blazes through the end of 2025.

Sky Lakes is the only hospital in a 10,000-square-mile area in south-central Oregon and northern California and serves more than 80,000 patients. In addition to its 127-bed main hospital facility, Sky Lakes operates multiple primary and specialty care clinics in the area.

The Cram Fire in Central Oregon has burned nearly 65,000 acres and is threatening a correctional facility in Jefferson County, while Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek has declared a State of Emergency due to the increasing danger of wildfires.

The Cram Fire, burning about 20 miles northeast of Madras in central Oregon, has grown over 40,000 acres and is zero percent contained.
