Braun Strowman’s release from WWE on May 2 shocked fans across the wrestling world. The former Universal Champion, famously nicknamed “The Monster Among Men,” was one of 17 wrestlers let go in a round of cuts that hit both the main roster and NXT.

They were not over with the main roster crowds. Some of them might have been pretty popular on Twitter, but when they walked through the curtain, the crowd was not excited to see them. I wish that wasn’t the case, but the facts are the facts.

Pro wrestling journalist Sean Ross Sapp reported Strowman, Baszler, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Dakota Kai, Gigi Dolin, Oro Mensah, Javier Bernal, and Gallus' (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) releases. NXT superstars Cora Jade and Jakara Jackson were also released, according to PW Insider.
