Watch the No. 11 seed Utah Utes (16-15, 8-12 Big 12) head into the Big 12 Tournament against the No. 14 seed UCF Knights (16-15, 7-13 Big 12) on Tuesday at T-Mobile Center, beginning at 9:30 p.m.

The University of Utah ski team is back on top. The Utes won their 17th national title on Saturday, rallying from a sluggish start to the 2025 NCAA Championships at Dartmouth Skiway in New Hampshire.

The Runnin' Utes would have to pull off a miracle run in the Big 12 Championship in Kansas City to make the NCAA Tournament. No. 14-seeded UCF is up next for Utah in the conference tournament. The Utes lost to the Knights in Orlando less than two weeks ago.

The last time No. 23 BYU basketball faced the Utah Utes, it was a completely different team. Following a 73-72 loss in overtime, BYU was 2-4 in the Big 12 and outside the NCAA tournament field. Coming into Saturday night, the Cougars had won 11 of its last 13 games and had one more box to check to cap off an incredible regular season.

Going into the final week of the regular season, the Utah men’s basketball season, now under the leadership of interim coach Josh Eilert, still has plenty to play for this season. The Runnin’ Utes are tied for ninth in the Big 12 standings,

As is often the case, the BYU-Utah men’s basketball rivalry game was sloppy, messy and kind of a rock fight. After a closely contested first half, the No. 23 Cougars led by as many a 18 points in the second but could never truly bury the Utes,

BYU isn’t a stranger to playing on Friday night and, as usual, the Cougars will play the Friday before general conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. BYU will host West Virginia in that game on Oct. 3.

This time, the Cougars are an overwhelming favorite, even though the Utes have won two straight in the series.
