Most people who traveled to Washington to watch the event in person have been relegated to the Capital One Arena, a sports venue nearby, for a livestream of the official ceremony.

The inauguration was held inside for the first time since 1985 due to below-freezing temperatures in the nation's capital. With wind chill, the temperatures are as low as the teens. The arena has a capacity of 20,000 people — but there have been many more tickets distributed than that, meaning not everyone lined up will be able to get inside.

The cold temperatures did not deter supporters of the 47th President of the United States from getting a chance to witness history. Thousands lined up at Capital One Arena, as early as midnight Monday
