On that day, snow fell in South Florida for the first time in recorded history. According to an article from the NWS, snow was seen across all of southeast Florida as far south as Homestead and even on Miami Beach.

A winter storm is expected to bring extreme cold and possible record breaking snow to parts of the deep south.

Tampa Bay has ranked in a WalletHub study highlighting the cities with the worst inflation problems in the nation. The Consumer Price Index in the Tampa Bay metropolitan area, including Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Lakeland, increased by 1.6% over the last year, according to the study.

Pamlico, the 9-foot female manatee rescued last fall, has been released into the Tampa Bay by staff from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation.
