The Washington Capitals have activated goaltender Charlie Lindgren from injured reserve. Lindgren had missed the last three games with an upper-body injury, one he sustained on January 10th against the Montreal Canadiens when Nick Suzuki had collided with Lindgren in the crease.
Thompson is coming off back-to-back shutouts and has shown over the last three games that he can remain consistent with a bigger workload. His .924 save percentage is the third-best in the league, and he leads the NHL in points percentage thanks to his 20-2-3 record.

Thompson has the fourth-highest save percentage in the NHL among goalies with at least 20 games played, and he's only lost in regulation twice for the Capitals this season.
