Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd took issue with media speculation that Kyrie Irving’s heavy workload over the last month led to the nine-time All-Star’s season-ending knee injury.

The Mavericks will be shorthanded for Wednesday’s rematch against the Bucks and could play with as few as eight players: Spencer Dinwiddie, Max Christie, Klay Thompson, Kessler Edwards, Dwight Powell, Naji Marshall, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, and Brandon Williams.
