The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded for D.K. Metcalf, and signed the Seattle Seahawks star receiver to a five-year, $150 million contract to keep him long-term, per multiple reports.
It's confounding to assess the Seahawks because they have plenty of talent and three straight winning seasons. But there was only one playoff appearance in those three seasons and no postseason wins.
The Chargers and Raiders emerge as teams immediately interested in DK Metcalf following his trade request from the Seahawks
The Raiders are tired of being in the NFL's basement. In an effort to get out of it, the team has opted to gamble on trading for Geno Smith and bringing Pete Carroll back to the sidelines. Part-owner Tom Brady has been front and center all offseason long, but this Seattle-themed party can't be overlooked.
Seattle was originally seeking a first- and a third-round pick for Metcalf, according to The Athletic's Dianna Russini. That elicited scoffs from the rest of the league, per Russini, as NFL teams presumably felt the Seahawks were asking for too much.
The Athletic's Diana Russini reported that the Seattle Seahawks are not seeking a bit less for their star wide receiver.
