Jimmy revealed that he got paid $15,000. Which sounds like a lot of money for one night's work, but again, it's more than a night. In fact, Jimmy recently revealed he turned down hosting the 2025 Oscars because of how much work goes into it.

TV funnyman Conan O'Brien took the stage as host of the 97th annual Academy Awards on Sunday night as the 2025 Oscar nominees competed for top honors . O'Brien inherited hosting duties from fellow comedian and late-night star Jimmy Kimmel, who presided over the Oscars four times before.

As an Oscars host, O’Brien follows Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted in both 2023 and 2024 – as well as in 2018 and 2017 – Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes, who co-hosted together in 2022, two years in a row (2020 and 2021) when the ceremony had no host, and Chris Rock, who hosted in 2016.

The upcoming 97th Academy Awards are going to be hosted by television star and comedian, Conan O'Brien. While the star is a great choice for hosting the event, bringing his years of experience and great wit to make sure the event is going to be enjoyable for everyone, he was not the first choice for being the host of the 2025 Oscars.
