Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States on Monday at an inauguration ceremony that has been scaled back due to a forecast of severe cold weather in the nation's capital.
For the first time since 1985 and Ronald Reagan’s swearing in, the traditional stage outside of the Capitol will not be used instead. The swearing in will take place inside the Capitol Rotunda with a limited number of VIP guests.

Nearly a quarter million ticketed guests are expected to attend Donald Trump’s second inauguration on Monday, January 20, 2025, in the nation’s capital. The festivities begin over the weekend and continue until the Tuesday following Inauguration Day.
A 6-inch water main break has closed the eastbound lane of West Cone Boulevard from Lafayette Avenue to Cleburne Street. This is in the 1500 block of West Cone Boulevard. Ten customers are without service at this time. Crews will be working on-site until 6 p.m. to complete repairs.
