Caitlin Clark was the big story going in to the Valkyries game Thursday night, but was upstaged by a dogged Golden State team and its enthusiastic fan base.

The Golden State Valkyries believe they know how to defend Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark. The expansion franchise was able to limit Clark to just 11 points in an 88-77 win for Golden State. Clark shot only 3-of-14 from the floor and a dismal 0-of-7 from three-point range.

The “love” was clear. He was entrusted with a T-shirt cannon during a break in the action, and CBS News Bay Area anchor Matt Lively wrote on social media, “Brandin Podziemski might legitimately be the biggest Valkyries fan.”
