One arrest has been made and at least two more are expected in connection with the death of a 20-year-old Southern University student after an off-campus fraternity hazing ritual, Baton Rouge authorities announced Friday.

A Southern University graduate has been detained and police said they expect to make at least two more arrests Friday in connection with the death of 20-year-old Kenner native Caleb Wilson during an off-campus fraternity initiation.

The death of a 20-year-old Southern University student in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is being investigated by local law enforcement as a possible act of fraternity hazing, school authorities confirmed to The Associated Press on Wednesday.

A suspect has now been arrested in the hazing death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson. Investigators — who are now referring to Wilson’s death as a hazing incident — say many more arrests are expected.

Louisiana authorities investigating the death of a 20-year-old Southern University student say they expect multiple people to face charges in relation to the case.

In a statement released Tuesday, Southern said hazing is a violation of the school's rules and regulations, as well as a violation of state law.
