The impeached South Korean president's second attempt to avoid arrest failed as a huge number of police officers detained him at his residence.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been arrested for questioning, according to the country’s anti corruption agency, in the latest chapter of a weekslong political saga that began with the embattled president’s shock martial law decree last month.

Recently suspended South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol was arrested early Wednesday by the country's Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, ending a political standoff triggered by Yoon's short-lived decision to impose martial law last month.
