Comedian Alex Stein has commented on New York Times photographer Doug Mills winning the Pulitzer Prize for his photo capturing the attempted assassination of President Trump.

Veteran photojournalist Doug Mills won the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for capturing a historic image of a bullet speeding past Donald Trump's head during an assassination attempt.

This year’s history category had two winners. Ms. DuVal was honored for “a vivid and accessible account” of Native American nations and communities over a thousand years, the committee said. Ms. Fields-Black won for “a richly-textured and revelatory account of a slave rebellion.”

Everett’s novel was honored at the 2025 awards, along with other books in the categories of fiction, general nonfiction, memoir, poetry, history and biography.

The award, for exposing the fatal consequences of abortion bans, marks ProPublica’s 8th Pulitzer; investigation into mental health care access is named a Pulitzer finalist.
