The lines are long for people trying to obtain their real IDs, and they’ll only get longer, with the deadline exactly two months away as of Friday. New York’s Department of Motor Vehicles wants to help you out.

The NY DMV wants to make it easier to get an appointment and get a Real ID, so it's opening select locations on Saturdays.

New Yorkers will soon have an extra day to get their Real ID or Enhanced ID before a May federal deadline, as the state Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has expanded its hours to include Saturday mornings and early afternoons starting next month.
