President Donald Trump has named Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, a longtime ally, to his 10-member Council of Governors. In a post on X, Landry said he was "honored" by the appointment.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry has been appointed by President Trump to a panel that coordinates disaster response and military integration.

“Today, President Donald J. Trump announced new appointments to the Council of Governors, a bipartisan group of state leaders tasked with strengthening state-federal partnerships on key national security, disaster response, and military coordination issues,” read the announcement.
