At least nine people have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli attack in northern Gaza, the enclave’s ministry of health said Saturday, making it the deadliest incident since the ceasefire went into effect in January.

Gaza's civil defence agency said nine people including journalists were killed in Israeli strikes on Saturday, attacks which could further endanger the fragile truce in the Palestinian territory.Following the reported strikes,

Hamas will not release the last living American hostage it kidnapped during the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attack, 21-year-old Edan Alexander, unless Israel adheres to a ceasefire agreement. The terrorist organization agreed on Friday to release Alexander along with the bodies of four dead hostages,

Hamas said it would release Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander if Israel started the next phase of ceasefire talks.
