ATLANTA (AP) — Demaryius Thomas, who earned five straight Pro Bowl honors and a Super Bowl ring during a prolific receiving career spent mostly with the Denver Broncos, has died at the age of 33.
The running backs coach for the Detroit Lions and former Tech player spoke to the team about football, life and Demaryius Thomas, a former Tech and NFL star who died in 2021.
Thomas, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, has had a stretch of games the likes of which he's not had since Peyton Manning signed to be the Broncos quarterback in 2012.
Thomas carries Denver's franchise tag, which is worth $12.82 million. He has until 4 p.m. ET Wednesday to sign a long-term deal with the team, or play the 2015 season under the tag salary.
