For the second time in three years and the eighth time in program history, LSU is a national champion in baseball. The Tigers downed Coastal Carolina 5-3 Sunday afternoon to cap an undefeated run through the College World Series and climb back to college baseball's mountaintop.

LSU wins the eighth national baseball championship in school history and the second in the past three seasons.

Coastal Carolina coach Kevin Schnall didn’t like the way umpires handled his ejection early in Game 2 of the College World Series, explaining that he shouldn’t “get shooed by another grown man.”
