A major championship match has been added to the upcoming WWE Saturday Night's Main Event special. Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre. The announcement was made by SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis via social media on Tuesday. The match is set for the November 1 event in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Drew McIntyre must be a happy man. McIntyre left WWE SmackDown riding high after laying out both Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso. It puts McIntyre in the driver's seat before next week's undisputed WWE title match at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Rusev returned to WWE earlier in 2025, coming back with a new theme song. It carries with it an air of danger and dominance, but it takes way too long to get going, and it still feels levels below his old song, "Roar of the Lion".

In yet another twist, McIntyre could be attacked backstage, ruling him out of his title match. Randy Orton could emerge as his replacement, and the story could enter another chapter if Orton is later revealed to be Fatu and McIntyre's mystery attacker.
