The Transportation Security Administration on Wednesday announced it detected a record number of guns at airport security checkpoints last year in the Baltimore and Washington areas.

The rate of firearms discovered per screened passenger in Kentucky was "significantly higher" than the nationwide rate, TSA said in a release.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) reported an increase in the amount of guns detected at security checkpoints in/Washington area airports in 2024, officials said.
