The Los Angeles Angels have decided to hire former major league catcher Kurt Suzuki as their next manager, a person with knowledge of the negotiations tells The Associated Press.

The Los Angeles Angels, who let go of both Ron Washington and interim Ray Montgomery, are reportedly hiring former player Kurt Suzuki as their new skipper.

Suzuki, originally drafted by the Athletics in 2004, spent the final two seasons of his playing career with the Angels.
