Crews are continuing to battle a brush fire dubbed the Sandy Fire burning in Simi Valley, which has grown to more than 1,300 acres on Tuesday morning.

The Ventura County Fire Department said approximately 900 firefighters were guarding homes from the blaze by Wednesday morning, with the fire measuring 1,698 acres in size.
