A summertime program that helps low-income Ohioans pay their electric bills or buy or make repairs to their air conditioners is open now.

The Home Energy Assistance Program, also known as HEAP, assists income-eligible households in Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties with high winter heating costs.
New York State is extending the deadline to apply for the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) to April 12 for both regular and emergency applicants.
In addition to the extended application deadline, those who qualify for HEAP benefits may be eligible to receive a second emergency benefit this year.
