A Southern Utah resort that lost business due to the Cottonwood Fire says they are now facing additional issues due to flash flooding, exacerbated by fire burn scars.

Two young children and a third person were killed when flash floods ripped through Ruidoso, New Mexico, on July 8, 2025, after monsoonal rains fell on hillsides stripped bare by wildfires the previous year.
