English played at Missouri from 2008-12, including his senior season for Haith. He has spent the last three years playing professional basketball – one with the Detroit Pistons, and two overseas.

WCU head men’s basketball coach Steve Knight detailed his friendship with English. The two have been together at the university for every season except one, since 1980.

English played basketball at Woodrow Wilson from 1986-90. He registered 821 career points in his prep career, and he also earned first-team Class AAA all-state honors as a senior.

English considers himself a fan of Martin and Missouri basketball nowadays, and he believes the Tigers have more success coming with the East St. Louis, Illinois, native at the helm.
