There are not many jobs that start with a sidekick role on a new show about ballroom dancing and end 20 years later with the nation sobbing into their turkey leftovers as you say your final goodbye.

Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will make their last-ever appearance on Strictly Come Dancing on Christmas Day, more than a decade after they began presenting the show together.

Daly took delivery of an Argentine tango, her favourite dance style, with popular professional Aljaž Škorjanec.
