Multiple U.S. states and Canadian provinces are experiencing poor air quality from wildfire smoke. Here's where.

The Dragon Bravo Fire continues to damage Arizona's crown jewel, the Grand Canyon, as wildfires in the Southwest persist. As of Wednesday, the Gothic Fire in Nevada was 30,786 acres and 10% contained.

Simon Mason, NFRS group manager for operational response, said call handlers in the control room were using the GoodSAM mobile app to see what resources needed to be deployed. "It allows our operators to see the incident in front of them through the person's mobile phone," he said.

Hot, dry conditions and strong winds have made it difficult to contain the Cram fire, the largest active wildfire in the state.

Greenhouse gas emissions, mainly from burning coal, oil and gas, have heated the planet by about 1.3 degrees Celsius since pre-industrial times. Europe has warmed at twice the global average since the 1980s, according to the World Meteorological Organization.

The Cram fire is the largest in the state, expanding overnight to more than 64,000 acres, according to the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center. It is zero percent contained, while the Elk fire in Klamath is 39% contained and has burned around 2,700 acres.
