Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and global pop star Taylor Swift did not attend the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night because their schedules reportedly wouldn't allow it. According to TMZ Sports, Kelce and Swift were invited to the event, but scheduling conflicts prevented them from attending.

Another day, another Met Gala where everyone hopes Taylor Swift will show up, but she’s probably chilling at home with her cats. Swift hasn’t shown up to the fundraiser in eight years, since she was a co-chair in 2016 and possibly left the scene in a “Getaway Car” but why would this time be different?

The last time Taylor Swift posed at the Met Gala red carpet steps was in 2016, when she served as one of the evening’s co-chairs for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme. That year marked her sixth appearance at the annual fashion event, having previously attended in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.
