Law enforcement officers have found human remains not far from Jessie Kirk’s condominium. The 72-year-old Titusville woman was reported missing on Tuesday, March 4.

Titusville Police believe a former Brevard County Corrections Deputy may be connected to the disappearance of 72-year-old Jessie Kirk.

Jessie Kirk was reported missing earlier this week after she failed to show up for a morning walk with a friend, police said. Authorities later found Kirk’s vehicle set on fire in a wooded area of Orange County nearly 20 miles from her condo. The briefing will take place at 4:30 p.m. at TPD headquarters.

The Titusville woman is missing under highly suspicious circumstances and is considered a missing and endangered adult.

Kirk had been reported missing after failing to turn up for a routine morning walk, Titusville police reported. “This is a tragic and heinous crime,” the agency said in a statement issued Wednesday. “Jesse was loved by so many,
