Celebrations for St. Patrick's Day are underway across Milwaukee. St. Patrick's Day is officially on Monday, March 1 but events will continue through this weekend. Milwaukee has a long history of celebrating the Irish holiday; the city's first St. Patrick's Day parade was in 1843.

Year-round, Milwaukee’s blessed with many Irish pubs and eateries serving up classic fare like what you’d find in the Emerald Isle: shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, a Rueben sandwich, corned beef, and of course a pint of Guinness or Murphy’s.

Monday is St. Patrick’s Day — and if you can’t find corned beef and cabbage and green beer, you’re not trying. We hear the Reuben sandwiches are going fast, too.
