Iran’s foreign minister is in Moscow seeking support, but other than condemning the attack, Putin has not made any major moves to back Iran.

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iran's foreign minister to discuss next moves after stating there was no justification for the U.S. attack.

MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russian President Vladimir Putin told Iran's foreign minister on Monday there was no justification for the U.S. bombing of his country and that Moscow was trying to help the Iranian people.

Mutual deterrence may prevent a longer war for now, but the balance remains precarious and could collapse with little warning.

"It is very difficult to make any final conclusions now and get a clear picture," Lavrov said, in Russia's first reaction to the ceasefire agreement announced by U.S. President Donald Trump. "It's reported that the Americans convinced Israel to agree to a ceasefire and to establish an indefinite truce,
