Delhi has not acknowledged the loss of any of its planes and instead said it carried out successful strikes against what it said was "terrorist" infrastructure inside Pakistan.

Pakistan says it shot down five Indian fighter jets, which it identified as French- and Russian-origin fighter aircraft.

The F-16 took off from Pakistan's Sargodha air base. It was shot down by the Indian Surface-to-air missile (SAM) near the Sargodha air base, reported NDTV, citing sources. The aircraft is the most advanced fighter jets of Pakistan and the mainstay of its air force.
