An area of stormy weather in the open Atlantic Ocean became Tropical Storm Andrea on Tuesday morning, the first of the Atlantic hurricane season, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Andrea formed over the Atlantic Ocean Tuesday morning, marking the first named storm of the 2025 hurricane season.

The National Hurricane Center says Tropical Storm Andrea is expected to weaken quickly and become a post-tropical low soon.
