Microsoft released an emergency security patch on Sunday to “mitigate active attacks targeting on-premises servers.”

Microsoft has accused Chinese state-sponsored groups of exploiting its SharePoint document management software to target users including large corporations and government agencies.

The company said state-backed hacking groups were breaching systems through flaws in SharePoint, which is used by the U.S. government and companies around the world.
